North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has declared that the completion of its nuclear force is a historic victory for North Korea.
 
The North's official media Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) reported on Wednesday that Kim made the remark on Tuesday during a national meeting of defense industry workers and scientists in Pyongyang.
 
At the gathering, Kim reportedly said that North Korea had independently developed strategic weapons such as atomic bombs, hydrogen bombs and Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missiles and had completed its nuclear force. The North Korean leader called the weapons development program a great historic victory for the Workers' Party and the North Korean people.
 
Kim also said that the North will grow into the world's strongest nuclear and military power, calling on scientists, engineers and workers in the defense industry to produce more state-of-the-art weapons and enhance the country's nuclear force.
 
In addition, Kim rewarded scientists who developed the Hwasong-15 ICBM at the meeting.
