A new survey shows that South Korea is providing faster long-term evolution network services than seven major countries.
The Korea Telecommunications Operators Association(KTOA) Monday announced the result of a recent survey on the quality of the advanced 4G mobile network services in eight cities in seven foreign countries.
None of the surveyed countries matched South Korea’s LTE data transfer speed as surveyed by the South Korean government in December last year.
In KTOA survey, Toronto topped in LTE download speed at 69-point-56 mega bits per second, or Mbps.
That was followed by 43-point-18 Mbps and Tokyo at 42-point-32 Mbps. New York was the slowest at 30-point-05 Mbps.
According to the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning research last year, the average download speed through South Korea’s LTE network was 120-point-09 Mbps, about one-point-seven times as fast as Toronto.
The LTE average upload speed in South Korea was 41-point-83 Mbps, or one-point-six times that of Toronto and three times that of New York.
