The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Monday rose seven-point-49 points, or point-3 percent, to close the day at two-thousand-471-point-49.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose as investors snapped up large amounts of biopharmaceutical stocks.
The secondary bourse gained 20-point-03 points, or two-point-69 percent, finishing the session at 764-point-09.
On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened by a won against the dollar, closing at one-thousand-92-point-three won.
