S. Korea to Create One Tln Won Fund to Facilitate Corporate Restructuring

Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Kim Dong-yeon says that the government will create a one-trillion won fund in the first half of next year to facilitate corporate restructuring.
 
The minister made the remark on Friday while presiding over a meeting of chiefs of economy-related ministries.
 
In the meeting, Kim stressed that the government's key policy goal for next year is to create jobs and promote innovation, vowing to overhaul the framework of industries, businesses and corporate restructuring to induce innovation. He added that the government's reform efforts will focus on providing support for industrial reforms.
 
The minister said that the government will seek preemptive and market-centered corporate restructuring to help enhance companies' competitiveness.
