S. Korean Economy Maintaining Recovery Pace on Exports

The government has assessed that the South Korean economy is maintaining its current recovery pace on the back of strong exports.

The Finance Ministry said on Friday in its monthly economic assessment report that the economy is keeping its recovery pace thanks to robust exports and the recovery in the global economy.

The report, called "Green Book," projected the nation will continue to see economic recovery for the time being due to strong exports, but quickly added that there are risk factors such as changes in monetary policies of major countries, trade issues with the U.S. and geopolitical risks associated with North Korea.

The number of people employed increased 279-thousand in October from a year earlier, while exports expanded nine-point-six percent on-year in November, posting an increase for 13 straight months.
