N. Korea Reports on UN, N. Korean Official Meeting

North Korea has reported on a meeting between a visiting senior UN official and its vice foreign minister.

The North’s official Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) said Wednesday that UN Undersecretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman met with Vice Minister Park Myong-guk in Pyongyang earlier in the day.

According to the KCNA, the two exchanged opinions on issues of mutual interests, including cooperation between the UN and the North.

Foreign media outlets, including the Associated Press and Kyodo News, also covered the story.

Feltman's trip to the North, which began on Tuesday, marks the first high-ranking visit to the country by a UN official since his predecessor Lynn Pascoe traveled there in February 2010, and former UN humanitarian chief Valerie Amos's visit in October 2011.
