A ceremony combining fire from two sacred torches one from Turin, Italy and the other from Korea was held at Homi cape near Pohang City Sunday on the occasion of the Daegu Universiade.

The torch will make a tour of local cities before being enshrined at Daegu's main stadium.

The sacred torch-combining ceremony symbolizes global harmony by integrating East and West, and also hopes for national unification.
