US F-22, F-35A Fighter Jets Arrive in S. Korea for Joint Air Drills

United States F-22 Raptor and F-35A Lightening stealth fighter jets arrived in South Korea on Saturday for joint air drills set for this week.

According to the South Korean military on Sunday, six F-22 Raptors arrived on Saturday at the South Korean Air Force's Gwangju Air Base for the annual airborne exercise named "Vigilant ACE."

The United States also sent six F-35A stealth jets, six EA-18G Growlers, ten F-15C fighter planes and others for the large-scale joint drills to be held from Monday through Friday.

The South Korean Air Force will dispatch F-15K, KF-16 and F-5 fighter jets and other planes for the exercises, which will involve about 230 aircraft from the two sides.
