Combined Chip Sales of Samsung, SK Hynix Likely to Top 100Tln Won

Combined chip sales of Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, the world's leading chip makers, are likely to surpass 100 trillion won for the first time this year.

The market research firm IC Insights projected in its recent report that Samsung will post 65-point-six billion U.S. dollars in sales this year, while SK Hynix will record 26-point-two billion dollars.

The combined figure will reach 91-point-eight billion U.S. dollars, or 100-point-eight trillion won.

The figure will represent an increase of 53-point-six percent from a year ago, reflecting a surge in the demand for memory chips in the global market.
