Foreign Minister Kang to Visit China

South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha will visit China on Tuesday to prepare for President Moon Jae-in's trip and summit next month.

The Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that Kang will leave for Beijing on Tuesday afternoon to hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday.

In the meeting, the two sides are likely to discuss preparations for Moon's China visit and his summit talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The top diplomats are also expected to discuss bilateral cooperation to peacefully resolve the North Korea nuclear issue.

Kang is likely to be briefed on the results of a recent trip to the North by Chinese special envoy Song Tao and discuss ways to resume talks with the North.
