Damages from a powerful quake that struck the southeastern city of Pohang on Wednesday are estimated at over 52 billion won.

The city's disaster safety control center tentatively estimated the damage from the quake at 52-point-24 billion won as of Sunday morning.

The amount of damage to about 290 public facilities was tallied at 46-point-four billion won. More than 100 schools, 55 public buildings, port facilities, roads and waterworks were also damaged by the quakes.

The quake injured 76 people, five of whom were seriously injured and seventeen of the injured are at hospitals receiving treatment.
