US Sets Preliminary Antidumping Duties on S. Korean Steel Pipes

The U.S. has set preliminary antidumping duties of up to 48 percent on steel products from South Korea.

The U.S. Commerce Department said Thursday that it made a preliminary decision to impose antidumping duties on cold-rolled steel pipes imported from South Korea, Germany, China, Switzerland, India and Italy.

It said those countries are exporting the products at lower-than-fair prices of five-point-one percent to more than 209 percent.

The preliminary duties slapped on South Korean firms ranged from five-point-one percent to 48 percent.

The U.S. department plans to make a final decision on April third.
