The Unification Ministry says it is deciding on an "appropriate time" to implement its earlier promise to provide aid to North Korea via UN agencies. 
 
The government held a meeting on September 21st and approved the provision of eight million dollars to projects supporting infants and pregnant women in North Korea led by UNICEF and the World Food Program. 
 
Speaking to reporters Tuesday, a ministry official said working-level talks are under way with international organizations and that the government will provide the aid at an adequate time after considering overall factors including cross-border relations.
 
Though North Korea has made no provocations for 60 days, the Seoul government believes public opinions at home and abroad are still not favorable enough to execute aid provision to the North.
