Foreign Investment in Financial Market Hits Record High of 752 Trillion Won

The amount of Korean stocks and bonds held by foreign investors has reached a record high of 752 trillion won, or 672 million U.S. dollars.
 
According to the Financial Supervisory Service on Tuesday, foreign investors owned some 651 trillion won worth of local stocks and 101 trillion of bonds in the domestic market.
 
By country, investors from the U.S. held the most stocks, accounting for one-point-one trillion won, followed by the U.K, Ireland, China and Germany.
 
Foreign investors hold 33-point-nine percent of the total market capitalization of listed stocks.
 
In terms of bonds, investors from Asia and Europe snapped up 500 billion won and 200 billion won respectively.
