Police have decided to seek an arrest warrant for former head of DB Group, Kim Jun-ki, after he failed to appear for questioning three times over allegations he sexually abused his secretary.
 
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s deputy commissioner, Jung Chang-bae, told reporters on Monday that the agency will request an arrest warrant for Kim before the day is over.
 
Police in Seoul's Suseo district said they requested that Kim appear for questioning on October second and 12th and on November ninth but Kim’s aides had responded that he can't comply due to health reasons.
 
Kim has been staying in the U.S. since the end of July for medical treatment.
 
Kim’s aides said that he has been in the U.S. even before the complaint was filed against him by his former secretary, adding that Kim is expected to return to South Korea in February at the earliest. The aides submitted a doctor’s note to police to back their claim.  
 
If an arrest warrant is issued, Kim will be arrested in the airport the moment he returns to South Korea.
 
Kim’s secretary filed a complaint against her former boss, accusing him of repeated sexual abuse between February and July of this year.
 
Kim withdrew from the top post of DB Group, a conglomerate previously known as Dongbu Group, two days after the news of the complaint got out.
