South Korea is expected to take up a record high share in global exports this year.

The Institute for International Trade, a research center of the Korea International Trade Association, said on Sunday in its report that Korean exports accounted for three-point-33 percent of global exports in the first half of this year.

The report said that this year, South Korea is on track to exceed the existing record ratio of three-point-19 percent, set in 2015.

The nation's share in global exports marked around two-point-five percent in the early 2000s and steadily increased since.
