10 Public Organizations Credited for Increasing Regular Workers

The Ministry of Employment and Labor has announced a list of ten public organizations that successfully complied with its initiative to reduce the number of contract jobs in the public sector.

The ministry made the list, along with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Korea Racing Authority.

According to the government, as of the end of October, some eleven-thousand public workers who were hired on a short-term basis at 114 companies have been turned into regular employees. Around two-thousand public workers hired by subcontractors also benefited from similar measures.

The ministry said a total of 74-thousand nonregular workers in the public sector will be offered regular jobs this year.
