S. Korea's Consumer Price Growth Hits 10-Month Low in October

South Korea's consumer prices rose at the slowest pace in ten months in October as surging food prices slowed down.
 
According to data by Statistics Korea on Wednesday, the consumer price index advanced one-point-eight percent last month from a year earlier.
 
It's the slowest growth in ten months since December last year, when it increased one-point-three percent. 
 
The consumer price growth stayed over two percent for three straight months since July before slipping below the two percent level last month.
 
The prices of water, electricity and gas dropped one-point-six percent in October from a year ago, pulling down the overall prices by point-06 of a percentage point. 
 
Vegetable prices plunged nine-point-seven percent, but prices of petroleum products rose eight-point-two percent, pushing up overall prices by point-35 of a percentage point.
