Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha expects Seoul will soon be able to make an announcement regarding improving ties with Beijing. 

Speaking before the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee during a parliamentary inspection on Monday, Kang confirmed there have been positive signs of easing tensions between South Korea and China over the deployment of a U.S. THAAD missile defense battery.

She pointed out that since the start of the Moon Jae-in administration, the government has been working to resolve a number of pending issues with China, including a dispute over THAAD.

Kang said “good measures” will help the two countries overcome difficulties and quickly normalize their relationship.
