The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) closed above the two-thousand-500 threshold for the first time on Monday, renewing it's previous record high from just Friday. 

The KOSPI gained five-point-30 points or point-21 percent to close the day at two-thousand-501-point-93. The increase is on the back of gains on Wall Street which in turn boosted the tech sector. 

The KOSDAQ fell, losing point-29 point, or point-04 percent. It closed the day at 689-point-68. 

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened five-point-nine won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-124-point-six won.
