Consumer Sentiment Rebounds on Reduced N. Korea Risks

South Korea's consumer confidence rebounded in October on reduced North Korea risks.

According to the Bank of Korea(BOK) on Friday, the composite consumer sentiment index(CCSI) for October came to 109-point-two, up one-point-five points from the previous month.

A CCSI reading above the benchmark 100 means that optimists outnumber pessimists.

The index posted growth for six straight months from February to July, surging 17-point-nine points. It fell one-point-three points in August and two-point-two points in September before rebounding this month.

The BOK attributed the rebound to eased tensions between North Korea and the U.S. and improved sentiment about the economy in general.

The central bank conducted a survey on 22-hundred households around the country between September 13th and 20th for the index.
