S. Korea Expresses Interest in Saudi's Nuclear Plant Project

South Korea's trade minister has expressed the government's intent to participate in Saudi Arabia's project to build nuclear reactors.
 
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said that Minister Paik Un-gyu on Thursday held talks with Saudi Arabia's Economy and Planning Minister Adel bin Muhammad Fakeih in Seoul to discuss bilateral cooperation on Saudi's plan to build nuclear power plants. 
 
In the meeting, Paik conveyed Seoul's intent to participate in the Saudi project, stressing that South Korea has proven its prowess in the construction and operation of nuclear power plants over the past four decades. 
 
Saudi Arabia is set to announce a plan to build two nuclear reactors by 2030 to reduce its reliance on oil.
