The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) added two-point-01 points or point-08 percent to renew a record high for the fourth consecutive session. KOSPI closed the day at two-thousand-492-point-50.

The main bourse opened higher due to overnight gains on Wall Street. After ups and downs, net purchases by foreign investors and pension funds pushed the index to a new high. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining one-point-93 points, or point-28 percent. It closed  the day at 689-point-14. 

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency weakened point-5 won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-127-point-nine won.
