The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) once again renewed its record high, closing Monday at two-thousand-490-point-05. The KOSPI rose by just point-51 point or point-02 percent but did surpass the two-thousand-500 threshold during midday trading. 

The surge was on the back of a strong performance on Wall Street. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining two-point-91 points, or point-43 percent. It closed the day at 675-point-86. 

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened point-eight won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-130-point-two won.
