Producer Prices Rise for Third Straight Month in September

South Korea's producer prices rose for the third straight month in September on the back of rising international oil prices.

According to the Bank of Korea(BOK) on Monday, the producer price index -- a leading indicator of inflation -- came to 102-point-81 in September, up half of a percent from a month earlier.

That's the highest since December 2014, when it marked 103-point-11.

The BOK attributed the hike to a rise in prices of metal products and petrochemical goods.

The country's import prices also increased one-point-seven percent last month due to rising international oil prices.
