BOK Raises Economic Growth Outlook for 2017 to 3%

The Bank of Korea on Thursday marked up this year’s economic growth outlook from two-point-eight percent to three percent.
 
The bank’s governor, Lee Ju-yeol, revealed the upward revision in the growth forecast during a news conference held after the bank’s monetary policy committee meeting.
 
With the latest move, the bank has raised this year’s growth outlook for the third consecutive time this year.
 
Back in April, it moved up the outlook by one-tenth of a percentage point to two-point-six percent and in July by two-tenths of a percentage point to two-point-eight percent.
 
Also on Thursday, the central bank raised its projection for growth in consumer prices by one-tenth of a percentage point to two percent.
