Police raided the headquarters of Samsung C&T’s construction arm on Wednesday on suspicions that company money was used to pay for remodeling expenses at residences of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-hee.
 
Police believe the company spent billions of won to pay for the Lee family’s remodeling expenses over four years from 2008. 
 
Investigators for the National Police Agency seized data from computers and accounting documents. Police plan to summon Samsung C&T’s officials following a review of the materials.
 
It is the second raid in the case following one in August of a management office for Lee family residences.
 
Samsung C&T said in May that payments for the remodeling were made through normal procedures. 
 
Police have been investigating similar suspicions involving Korean Air Chairman Cho Yang-ho.
