The South Korean game industry is taking a hit from the country's prolonged diplomatic row with China over the U.S. THAAD antimissile system.

Citing data from the Korea Creative Content Agency, an opposition party lawmaker said on Thursday that South Korea exported 48 game programs to China from 2014 to 2016, but just five programs were exported in January and February this year.

The lawmaker said that zero programs were exported since March when China actively took economic retaliatory measures.

The country's exports of content products also posted a decrease of 31 percent in the first quarter from the previous quarter.
