The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) hit a record high on Monday, closing the day at two-thousand-480-point-05. 

The KOSPI rose by six-point-43 points or point-26 percent on the back strong performances by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, and record highs on Wall Street last week. 

The main bourse has renewed its record high three times in less than a week. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ fell, losing three-point-67 points, or point-55 percent. It closed the day at 659-point-41. 

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened one-point-one won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-127-point-eight won.
