Growth of Household Debt Showing Downward Trend

Korea's skyrocketing growth of household debt seems to have slowed in recent months, according to figures from the Financial Services Commission on Monday.

Loans taken out by households across the entire financial market last month increased by six-point-two trillion won, or five-point-five billion dollars.

That's four trillion won less compared to the same month last year, when debt figures grew by ten-point-two trillion won.

The total increase of household loans from January to September this year, recorded 64-point-four trillion won, or 57-point-one billion dollars, which amounts to 76 percent of the amount seen in the same period last year.
