WSJ Survey: 95% of Economists See Rate Hike in December

Most economists surveyed by the Wall Street Journal expect the U.S. Federal Reserve to raise interest rates in December.

The U.S. daily reported on Thursday that 95 percent of the 59 economists it surveyed see a rate hike coming in December. Economists expect the rate will be increased by a quarter of a percentage point to a range of one-point-25 to one-point-five percent.

In the September survey, 75 percent of the respondents projected a hike in December.

In the latest survey, 58 percent said they expected the Federal Reserve would raise the rate again in March next year.

The Fed hiked the key interest rates in March and June this year.
