'N. Korea Red Cross Officials Report Difficulty from Sanctions'

Voice of America reported Wednesday that North Korean Red Cross officials met with officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross and discussed damages caused by global sanctions.

The report said the two sides attended a meeting held in Denmark on October third related to the committee's North Korea projects.

According to an official of the Danish Red Cross, the North Korean officials complained of difficulties triggered by global sanctions imposed on Pyongyang.

A senior director at the Danish Red Cross told VOA that four North Korean delegates gave a detailed report on the difficulties of obtaining material support.

The meeting held on October third and fourth was attended by officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross as well as the Red Cross of nine countries including South Korea, Denmark, the UK, Italy, Germany and Iran.
