Kim Jong-un's Sister Elected Alternate Member of WPK's Politburo

Kim Yo-jong, the younger sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, has been elected an alternate member of the ruling Workers’ Party’s powerful Political Bureau.

The North’s state run media Korean Central News Agency reported on Sunday that the Workers’ Party Central Committee held their second conference in Pyongyang on Saturday and conducted a major personnel reshuffle of the Central Committee and the Military Commission.

The report said that Kim Yo-jong, currently a vice department director at the party’s Central Committee, was elected an alternate politburo member of the ruling party during the party conference.

Kim was elected to the post 17 months after she was elected to the party's central committee in of May of last year.
