ADB Raises S. Korea's Growth Outlook to 2.8%

The Asian Development Bank(ADB) has raised South Korea's growth outlook for this year from two-point-seven to two-point-eight percent.

In its revised report on Asian development outlook released Tuesday, the ADB forecast the South Korean economy will grow two-point-eight percent for both this and next year. It's up from two-point-seven percent for both years from the forecast in July.

For the 45 economies in Asia, the ADB maintained its outlook of an average five-point-nine percent growth this year and five-point-eight percent next year.

China's growth outlook was also kept the same at six-point-seven and six-point-four percent. However, the regional bank decreased its growth outlook for India to the lower seven percent range.

Chief economist of the ADB Yasuyuki Sawada said the recovery in global trade and China's strong growth momentum were behind the improving growth outlook for developing markets in Asia.
