According to Statistics Korea on Thursday, the nation’s exports surged around 31 percent year-on-year to 30 billion dollars between September first and 20th.

Semiconductor shipments jumped nearly 81 percent from a year ago while automobile exports rose roughly 76 percent and petroleum products 19-and-a-half percent.

South Korea’s exports to China, the U.S., the European Union, Vietnam and Japan all saw growth during the 20-day period.

Imports were tentatively estimated to have grown nearly 24 percent to 26-point-one billion dollars, resulting in a trade surplus of three-point-nine billion dollars.
