The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) on Monday surged 32-point-14 points, or one-point-35 percent.

The rise is due to analysis that the fall in the U.S. market due to weak economic indicators and the hurricane will be temporary.

It surpassed the two-thousand-400 mark for the first time since August eighth to close at two-thousand-418-point-21.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining four-point-57 points, or point-68 percent. It closed the day at 675-point-87.

On the foreign exchange market, the value of the local currency strengthened five-point-one won against the U.S. dollar, closing at one-thousand-126-point-six won.
