Trump's Security Adviser Urges Kim Jong-un to Abandon Nukes

U.S. President Donald Trump's top security adviser has urged North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to give up nuclear weapons, saying that Trump will not accept the North Korean regime threatening the U.S. and its citizens.

National Security Adviser Herbert McMaster made the remarks on Sunday during an interview with ABC.

He stressed that the president has made it very clear that "all options are on the table" regarding the North Korean issue.

The security adviser said that the U.S. is considering maximizing sanctions against the North, but it would take a "fundamentally different approach" as past sanctions proved to be a failure.

Regarding President Trump's tweet referencing "Rocket Man," McMaster assumed it refers to Kim Jong-un, adding that North Korea is where the rockets and missiles are coming from.
