Finance Ministry, BOK Hold Meetings over N. Korea's Missile Launch

South Korea's Finance Ministry has held an emergency meeting of economy-related agencies to discuss the effects of the latest North Korean missile provocation on the local and foreign markets.
 
The meeting chaired by Deputy Finance Minister Lee Chan-woo was attended by officials from the Financial Services Commission(FSC), the Financial Supervisory Service(FSS) and the Korea Center for International Finance.
 
The participants reportedly discussed contingency plans to deal with possible repercussions of the missile launch on the financial markets at home and abroad.
 
The Bank of Korea(BOK) also held an emergency meeting on Friday morning to check the impact of North Korea's missile launch on the financial markets and discuss measures to stabilize markets if necessary.
 
The South Korean military said that North Korea fired a ballistic missile over Japan from Pyongyang on Friday morning.
