Salary at Big Firms 3.2 Times Larger Than Small Companies

The average salary of workers at large South Korean large companies is around three times larger than that for small firms.

According to a report released Wednesday by researcher Noh Min-sun at the Korea Small Business Institute, the average monthly salary of workers at South Korean companies with 500 or more workers was six-thousand-48 dollars in terms of purchasing power parity(PPP) exchange rates last year.

The figure is three-point-two times larger than that for companies with less than five workers.

The researcher said the figure was also 31 percent larger than the number for the U.S. and 52 percent larger than that for Japan in terms of the PPP exchange rates.
