Retailers are rolling out various Chuseok gift products tailored for singles as many South Koreans are planning to spend the long holiday by themselves.

Popular gift items include traditional liquor and food products all wrapped up nicely in small bottles or packages.

One product sold by Shinsegae Department Store contains five, 125-milliliter traditional liquor bottles priced at 63-thousand won, or approximately 56 U.S. dollars.

Lotte Mart is selling smaller versions of premium, domestic hanu beef sets starting at 99-thousand won.

A retail industry official said the gift products are made smaller but with quality ingredients, and the demand for them is growing along with the rise in the number of people living alone.
