S. Korea Urges China to Lift Economic Retaliatory Measures

A Seoul trade official has asked Chinese trade authorities to lift economic retaliatory measures on South Korean firms over the deployment of the U.S. THAAD antimissile system.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said on Friday that Deputy Minister for Trade Kang Sung-chun met with Chinese Vice Commerce Minister Qian Keming and Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade(CCPIT) Chen Zhou and explained the difficulties facing South Korean firms operating in China.

The deputy minister urged China to pay attention to their difficulties and take proper measures.

Kang is visiting China to attend the China-Northeast Asia Commodities Expo in Changchun, which will begin on Friday and run for five days.
