Korean Food Exports Making Inroads into Brazil

Korean food exports are accelerating their advances into Brazil.

The Korea Agro-Fisheries and Food Trade Corporation held a Korean cuisine cooking show and exhibition in Brazil on Monday to promote Korean food and make inroads in the Brazilian market.

Some 80 guests including local culinary school and industry officials, buyers and power bloggers attended the event held at a downtown hotel in São Paulo.

Korean-Brazilian chef Son Jeong-soo who hosted the cooking show introduced how to make candied sweet and spicy chicken, a well known Korean dish.

An export counseling session will take place Tuesday attended by some 30 exporting firms and buyers.

An official organizing the event noted that Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America and has high potential for Korean food exports.

The official expected exports to expand as the Brazilian economy is recovering from its worst ever recession.
