More than three million people have opened accounts at Kakao Bank in the month since the Internet-only bank launched its services.
   
Kakao Bank said that as of 7 p.m. on Sunday, nearly two trillion won was entrusted to it while roughly one-point-four trillion won was taken out in loans. It also received two-point-16 million applications for the issuance of check cards.  
   
The amount of loans Kakao Bank executed over the past month is larger than the growth of household loans provided by Kookmin Bank from January to August this year.
 
It also amounts to 54-point-eight percent of the growth of household loans issued by Shinhan Bank during the same period.
  
However, the online bank’s various services from loan limit calculations to check card issuance remain delayed due to the influx of loan applications.
  
Kakao Bank said on Sunday that it will make efforts to offer more stable services by increasing their equipment and workforce.
