LG Electronics to Build Electric Car Parts Plant in Michigan

LG Electronics will build an electric vehicle parts factory in the U.S. state of Michigan.

The tech giant said Wednesday that it will invest some 25 million dollars in the construction of the auto components plant in Hazel Park in the suburbs of the industrial city of Detroit in southeastern Michigan.

The plant, scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of next year, will produce battery packs for electric cars with plans to gradually expand its scope to other auto parts such as motors.
