Labor Union of Kia Motors Goes on Strike for 6th Straight Year

The labor union of Kia Motors has launched a partial strike seeking improved working conditions following a similar move by that of its sister company Hyundai Motor.

The union at the country’s second-largest automaker said on Tuesday that around 28-thousand members participated in the partial strike by leaving work three to six hours earlier than usual.

Holding a walkout for a sixth consecutive year, the Kia union plans to decide on Wednesday on its future strike plan.

Earlier, the union decided to go on a strike through a general vote last month.
