The Ministry of Unification says cars and property at the now-stalled Gaeseong Industrial Complex belong to South Korean firms and the North’s use of them is an illegal act that must be stopped.
A ministry official was responding to reporters' questions about a Voice of America(VOA) report on Tuesday which said that about 100 South Korean-owned cars and trucks left at the complex have been confirmed missing.
The official, however, said that the ministry does not have relevant information to verify the report.
Asked whether the North has begun liquidating the South's assets at the complex, the official said that operation or management of the complex is not something that the North can decide unilaterally.
The VOA reported that satellite imagery of an apparel company parking lot at the complex taken on June 16th shows that around 100 vehicles have been moved out.
