Shin Ramyun 1st S. Korean Food to be Sold in All US Walmart Stores

South Korean food manufacturer Nongshim announced on Wednesday that its Shin Ramyun instant noodles have become the first South Korean food product to be sold in all four-thousand-692 Walmart Stores in the U.S.

Nongshim became the first South Korean food manufacturing firm to clinch a direct dealing contract with Walmart in 2013. Since then, Nongshim has expanded the supply of products mainly in stores in large cities and recently completed introducing products in Walmart stores in small cities. Sales of the instant noodles in Walmart stores have surged 30 percent every year.

A Nongshim official said that the company pursued customized business after analyzing Walmart’s sales data and effectively conducted display and promotional events in collaboration with buyers. The official predicted that sales of Shin Ramyun will further surge from this year.

Starting from the second half of this year, Nongshim plans to pursue selling Shin Ramyun in the White House, NASA and the UN headquarters.
