S. Korea, US Closely Monitoring N. Korea’s Moves

The Unification Ministry says that South Korean and U.S. intelligence authorities are keeping a close eye on North Korea in order to detect if it is moving to make another provocation.

Ministry spokesman Baek Tae-hyun made the remarks in a news briefing on Monday.

He said that no unusual moves have been noticed in the North, despite a report by U.S.-based North Korea monitoring Web site “38 North” which said the regime may be preparing for a new “at sea” test of a submarine-launched ballistic missile.

The spokesman said that a gathering of the heads of North Korean overseas diplomatic missions, which is now under way in Pyongyang, seems to be similar to a 2015 conference of its ambassadors.
