South Korea's exports surged 28 percent in the first ten days of August from a year earlier.

According to the Korea Customs Service on Friday, the country’s outbound shipments reached 12-point-four billion U.S. dollars from August first to tenth, up 28-point-two percent year-on-year.

The surge was led by a 76-point-six percent jump in petrochemical goods and a 52-point-nine percent on-year increase in exports of semiconductors.

The country’s exports have posted on-year growth since December last year, marking double-digit growth for seven straight months since January.
