South Korea's top mobile messenger operator Kakao Corporation said Thursday that it has introduced a voice recognition function to its camera app called KakaoTalk Cheez.
Through the voice recognition service Voice Cheez, artificial intelligence comprehends a user's speech and converts it into letters to create a stylish image sticker for decorating photos.
This latest function is enabled by Kakao's AI platform "Kakao I."
An official at the firm said that Kakao I supports not only voice but also image recognition and various other functions. The official revealed plans to incorporate Kakao I into more Kakao services and also have outside partners embrace the technology.
KakaoTalk Cheez which launched last August is an app that allows users to decorate photos taken with their smartphones, using stickers. It's been downloaded more than 12 million times so far.
